Our Heritage

St. Vincent Pallotti (Our Founder)

St. Vincent Pallotti was born in Rome in 1795. His love for the poor and downtrodden was the outcome of his understanding of the Love of God for humanity. His service to humanity was noteworthy and his life was exemplary in thought, word and deed. His desire for charity was experienced by people of all walks of life in Rome.

Kindled by love for the poor, St. Vincent Pallotti established a Society of Priests and Brothers in the year 1835, known as the Society of the Catholic Apostolate. This society, commonly known as the Congregation of the Pallottine Fathers and Brothers, is spread over 46 countries. It made its beginning in India in the year 1951. Its primary objective is to proclaim to the world that happiness lies in unity and service to humanity.

Today, in India, we have educational institutions in Maharashtra, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
